PANAS : Proton akui ada salah faham berkenaan isu “top tether” pada model Saga

Dalam satu kenyataan yang dikeluarkan hari ini, Proton mengakui terdapat salah faham mengenai ‘top tether’ yang dibangkitkan oleh ASEAN NCAP untuk model Saga yang secara tersilap dikeluarkan pada yang model telah menjalani ujian perlanggaran pada 2013.

‘Top tether’ dan lebih daripada 10 komponen peningkatan keselamatan yang lain telah dipasang untuk ujian NCAP ASEAN pada tahun 2013. Komponen yang lain termasuklah, pemasangan rasuk bumper depan, tetulang tambahan untuk bumper depan dan bumper belakang, tetulang kesan sampingan pintu dan pusat tiang depan, tetulang sokongan hingga ke tempat duduk belakang, penambahan beg udara penumpang dengan unit kawalan beg udara, penambahan tali pinggang keledar hadapan pra-regangan, tali pinggang keledar belakang 3-titik dan tempat duduk depan dengan pelaras ketinggian.

Peningkatan dan pengukuhan ini secara efektif membolehkan kereta itu mendapat penarafan tiga bintang apabila ia diuji pada tahun berkenaan. Top tether bukan keperluan peraturan untuk OEM memasangnya dalam kereta buatan mereka semasa ianya sedang diuji.

Walaupun Proton telah mematuhi peraturan keselamatan dan syarat-syarat lain yang diperlukan di negara ini, mereka telah terlepas pandang dalam mengemas kini ASEAN NCAP mengenai penanggalan ‘top tether’ daripada model Saga sedia ada. Proton kini sedang menawarkan pemasangan percuma ‘top tether’ itu sebagai pilihan kepada pemilik Saga.

Para pelanggan yang terlibat dinasihatkan untuk menghubungi Hotline Perkhidmatan Pelanggan 1 800 888398 atau e-mel [email protected] untuk sebarang pertanyaan atau menetapkan temu janji di cawangan servis yang berhampiran bagi pemasangan ‘top tether’ secara percuma.

* Akhirnya terbongkar jua rahsia pohon Cemara kan, hehehe… diharapkan Proton selesaikan isu ini dengan segera dan memohon maaf kepada para pelanggannya yang terlibat.

  • Tu dia..sapa plak puak khawarij sekarang..terlepas pandang? Mcm tak tau drb hicom nak approval sampai 7,8 signature..paperwork 2,3 kali kene amend…the top must be responsible..integrity dah hilang..Takdak plak I DONT WANT TO SEE UR FACE ANYMORE kalo top mgmt being irresponsible…head must roll..


    • SUBANG JAYA, 19 October 2015 – Upon consultation with ASEAN NCAP on 16 October 2015, PROTON Holdings Berhad (“PROTON” or “the Company”) regret for the miscommunication with ASEAN NCAP on the “top tether” matter that was mistakenly omitted from the current running Saga model that was crash tested in 2013.

      The Company would like to reiterate that we are committed in enhancing safety and all our models are equipped with active and passive safety features.

      The Proton Saga

      In order to provide a higher level of occupant protection on the current Saga, the model had undergone considerable safety upgrades. The ‘top tether’ and more than 10 other safety enhancement components were fitted for ASEAN NCAP testing in 2013, which include among others, the fitting of a front bumper beam, additional reinforcement to the front bumper and rear bumper, reinforcement to the side impact of the front door and centre pillars, reinforcement to the rear seat back support, addition of passenger airbag with airbag control unit, addition of front seat belt pre-tensioner; and a rear centre 3-point seat belt and the front seat with height adjuster.

      These upgrades and reinforcements had effectively entitled the car to obtain a 3-star rating when it was tested in 2013. All these were included to enable the Proton Saga to be offered with better safety values and remains at an attractively affordable price.

      As mentioned by ASEAN NCAP, the top tether can only be effective with the use of a child seat and the child restrained with the safety belt inside the car. The top tether does not in any way, affected the safety of Adult Occupancy Protection (“AOP”) as it is meant for the installation of child seat that is fitted with the ISOFIX and top tether mechanism. In this case, any child seat can still be fitted in the car through normal rear seat belt installation.

      The top tether was not a regulatory requirement for OEMs to fit in their cars at the point when the car was tested. Although we had complied with safety regulations and other required conditions in the country, we had overlooked in updating ASEAN NCAP on the omission of the top tether from the current Saga models.

      At this juncture PROTON is offering its customers a free installation of the top tether as an option for current Proton Saga owners. Customers are advised to call our Customer Care Hotline 1 800 888398 or email [email protected] for any enquiries and assistance to schedule such an appointment at their nearest service outlet.

      PROTON is committed to work together with ASEAN NCAP to help promote safety in the country. ISOFIX and top tether fittings currently are available in all PROTON’s 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating cars, namely the Prevé, Suprima S and Iriz.

    • Mmm… cakap siang pandang2:p pihak proton pun dh buat statement. Ada salah faham tentang komponen yg bukan keperluan peraturan pemasangan OEM. Terlepas pandang terhadap keperluan asean ancap walau syarat lainnya dipatuhi. Komponen nie bersifat option. Pemasangan percuma bagi mereka yg memerlukan.

      Dari satu sudut lain isu nie patutnya pihak asean ancap settle dulu dgn pihak proton dptkn penerangan proton sebelum menjadi hebahan massa. Tapi tindakannya seperti xde isu n nk create isu utk naikkn rating n kredibiliti n integriti asean ancap yg sekian masa ini seperti tidak diendah, x dipandang n x dihormati sgt oleh industri auto m’sia malah rakan negara asean yg lain sedangkn itulah visi n misi ia diwujudkn.

      Apa2 pun selepas nie proton kena lebih berhati2 n teliti lagi supaya benda cengini x berulang. Buktikn model replacement saga 2016 improve a lot dari sekecil2 part hingga ke safety features. Bukan setakat 3 star safety, walau model dlm kategori budget low cost sedan A+ segment pun bleh mencapai penarafan 4@5 star ancap. Ada bran?:)

      • Management team ramai pun boleh ‘terlepas pandang’…Next time jangan terlepas pandang aaaa…bahaya tau.Kang terlepas pandang lupa letak pasang brek cmana?
        Kalau Asean ANCAP kurang integriti,tidak diendah,tidak dipandang dan dihormati,kiranya Asean ANCAP ni badan penarafan cap ayam la eh?Then,apakah nilai 3 bintang yang Saga dapat?Sepatutnya dapat berapa?


        • Mmm… tu terlepas pandang sbb berlaku salah faham la. La nie pun prootn pun really tekankan aspek safety kat produk2 terkininya seperti suprima S, preve n iriz, tau kn? Utk saga nie prootn perlu buktikan pada saga replacement 2016 seiring knowledge n teknologi yg dibangunkan.

          Asean ancap masih baru dan fasilitis n penarafannya sentiasa di update dan diperkemaskan walau masih tidak lagi bleh menandingi ncap dari us, europe japan even Aussie. yg nie pun ko tau kn?:P penarafan bintangnya pun masih lagi x melibatkan ujian2 lain spt langgar sisi dsb.

          PROTON has been testing many of its cars worldwide such as Australia and previously in Europe. The Company has also sought the service of world-class agencies and test labs to ensure stringent tests and outcome.

          From the experience of dealing with leading and world-class agencies, the normal procedures of these agencies would be to thoroughly inform and notify the Company in the event of discrepancy, defects or faulty elements, before any public statements are issued regarding the tested cars.

          In this instance, we will consult ASEAN NCAP on the matter as we have not been notified officially. Hence, we are unable to confirm or deny the matter.

          We wish to assure the public that all Proton cars meet the regulatory safety standards in all markets that we are operating in, especially in Malaysia. We will continuously pursue to enhance our products and services as well as make improvements where necessary.

    • Proton bukan sekali dua hantar kereta untuk ujian pelanggaran. hatta aseancap belum wujud, proton dah hantar kereta pergi euroncap.

      Dalam hal ini, saya sendiri tidak pasti sama ada aseancap menyatakan dengan jelas tentang terma dan peraturan kepada pengeluar kereta yang hendak diuji, sehingga mewujudkan salah faham.

      Walau apapun, jadikan ia pengajaran untuk proton. Saya tahu, proton tidak berkompromi tentang aspek keselamatan kenderaan mereka.


  • Sudah masanya Saga dihentikan pengeluarannya Serta merta, Dan digantikan dengan Saga Replacement tahun hadapan..

    Saga R 2016 tahun hadapan mestilah mendapat sekurangnya 5-star ASEAN NCAP..


  • PUCHONG – Bukan sebulan dua, namun tiga tahun pemilik kereta terpaksa menunggu sebuah syarikat jualan kenderaan berjenama terkenal membaik pulih kereta baharu yang dibelinya pada tahun 2012.

    Pengusaha pusat penjagaan haiwan, Everlyn Teh, 27 berkata, impian miliki kereta baharu musnah apabila kenderaan itu sering rosak tidak sampai sebulan ia digunakan.

    Dia mendakwa terpaksa berulang-alik ke pusat servis hampir 15 kali dalam tempoh tiga tahun apabila kereta berharga RM149,000 itu berkali-kali ‘buat hal’.
